Due to mandated capacity restrictions, the annual firework show has been cancelled.
We are disappointed to share the news that the Labor Day Weekend Firework show has been cancelled due to coronavirus capacity restrictions. In accordance with the law, the City of Black Hawk City Council has made this difficult decision in an effort to uphold public safety and health.
The Council had originally postponed the Fourth of July celebration to Labor Day Weekend due to COVID-19 restrictions. However, Casino capacity regulations, under Public Health Order 20-28, remain too strict to accommodate the thousands who would make the short drive to Black Hawk to watch one of the most spectacular shows in the State.
For more information about the decision, please reference the City of Black Hawk’s statement here.
We hope to see you next year to celebrate as a community even bigger and better!
