The Hawk Visits Red Rocks at Big Head Todd and the Monsters Concert

The Visit Black Hawk team and Big Head Todd and The Monsters met at Red Rocks earlier this month for a day of great music, sun, and escaping from responsibilities. Despite the 90-degree heat, we had a great time hanging with Big Head Todd and The Monsters fans and giving away goodies including promotional chips worth $20 in free gaming at Black Hawk. With these chips, Black Hawk visitors can play at participating casinos and even redeem additional prizes online.

Concertgoers did not expect to see The Hawk as they walked through the gates of the amphitheater. We loved seeing their faces as they kicked back, and took pictures with our mascot. We wanted to know what people would escape from if they took a trip to Black Hawk, so we asked them to write it down when they came up to the tent. Everyone, including the Red Rocks staff joined in on the fun. We received answers such as my boss, my coworkers, and even adulthood. To say the least, the concertgoers really were having a good time with it.

Overall, Red Rocks was the perfect place to portray the feeling of being up at Black Hawk. The amphitheater was full of fun and excitement; exactly what you’d expect a getaway at Black Hawk to feel like.
Thanks to the Red Rocks team for making this a great event. We hope to see them and other people escaping from their everyday commitments very soon.
